Certified Flight Instructor I
nstrument Rating (CFII)
Eligibility
- Be at least 18 years old
- Hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate and an Instrument Rating
- Be of good moral character
- Pass both FAA Fundamentals of Instructing and Certified Flight Instructor Instrument Airplane Written Exam
Aeronautical Experience (same as CFI)
- Log 15 hours as pilot in command in the category and class of aircraft that is appropriate to the flight instructor rating sought
- Be proficient in all maneuvers listed in the Practical Test Standards
Privileges
- Instruct and sign-off student pilots, private pilots, recreational, and commercial pilots for instrument airplanes
